Update: It seems Android automatically redirects you to touch.facebook.com when you try to get a 6-digit code. Try hitting the link from your PC and type in the code.
Yes, I am still alive. I work approximately 12 hours a day without a STOP (including sometimes Saturdays). I found sometime to update Bloo. Here is the list of updates:
- Photo notifications now take you to the actual photo in which you were tagged.
- Notification service should not annoy you anymore
- Notification service starts on reboot
- Posts now show up FRIENDS who like it. Please note, it WILL NOT show people who are not on your friends list. Not yet at least.
- Multiple bug fixes on stream
- Fixed a crash with album create
So, it seems that Facebook now allows 3rd party clients to integrate Facebook Chat. I put the widget on hold for a bit and give higher priority to Facebook chat. 1.4.4 has some preliminary work.
Bloo heart still is beating.

Thanks for the update, but when I tried to get the 6 digit code, Facebook says that this is an “Invalid Application” therefore I can’t use this app.
Im glad to hear the great news on the FB chat and the Widget. I would like one request on the widget if its at all possible. Please done make it white, or give us a couple skin choices. A lot of the community wants the dark skinned widgets. Thats just my opinion

it seems that this mornings update 1.4.4b broke the repeated notification issue again.
Can’t wait for the chat feature! Good job on the update. I hope to god you’re making a new harmony remote software at logitech, cos the one they have now sucks donkey balls its so shit.

Guys, when you say you receive the same notification over and over again. Does this happen if you receive a notification but you click Clear (when you drag down the notifications bar) instead of viewing at them at Bloo first?

I can’t seem to sign up to Bloo anymore, when I click the button to generate a 6 digit code it just takes me to the standard facebook page 😦 Is there any workaround for this?
Demitris, I can confirm that this happens when I click on the notifications, rather than pushing clear.
I virtually never push ‘clear’ on those notifications, and I almost always click on the notification right away.
Three times yesterday, it gave me duplicate sets of notifications.
Also, when a friend accepts my friend request who is NEW to facebook, I get lots of raw HTML below the post in my notifications:

Hey Guys..I like the app so far, but I have a blank screen when i look for notifications. I have the HTC hero..I have the notifications checked in preferences, but a blank white screen when checking them….any help would be great. Just to settle on a decent FB app is a relief since they all suck. Thanks..!
New version looks great. One suggestion for an enhancement (I’m not sure if it can be done or not) when I view a post from a friend about a game where on my pc there is a link to get a bonus something that doesn’t show up (or I’m not seeing how to get to it). I just see comment or like.

I downloaded your bloo facebook ap for droid, and it requires a “code” to set it up. I click on get new code and it sends me to the touch facebook site which is worthless. I looked on facebook for an hour trying to find out how I can get this code resent to me. I do ad they say, and I still cannot find this dreaded code. Please help, because I can’t use your product without this stupid thing.

Is there a way when you view the notification on bloo it also clears it on facebook.com, so that way when I check online I don’t have a ton of notifications that I’ve already looked at.
Also being able to just have a refresh button in notifications just like the official facebook app.
Other than that, I’m a ton happier with it now that it does everything else I’m wanting it to do 🙂
Also, anyway of getting the bloo icon or a mobile icon to show up when we post?
I installed Bloo on my Droid today and when I press “Get Code!” button in the app it just sends me to the Facebook mobile website. I essentially can’t get a code; I did have one before, is there any way to retrieve it?
I just downloaded bloo from the marketplace, and when I try to get a 6 digit code it just takes me to the facebook homepage. Is it doing something wrong? If not where do I go from the homepage?

The feed doesn’t work. It shows me a blue background. Everything else works fine and this is the latest version, 1.4.4b; hope, this gets fixed in the new update you have planned. Thank you!
What little I’ve seen so far, I love this.
I’m having a bit of a problem. I figured out that I cannot get my 6-digit code from my Droid, but I must use the website. No big deal.
Once I get in on the Droid though, it seems that everything I want to do requires elevated permissions. Posting statuses, checking my inbox, etc. When I click that I want to grant permission, I just get sent (as seems to be Facebook’s new norm) to the touch.facebook.com website. Are you aware of a workaround that I can use to elevate the permissions?
Am I missing something?
I open up the app and see “Share”, “Inbox”, “The Feed”, “(My Name)”, “Friends”, “Photos”, and “Events”.
When I click “Inbox” it tells me that permission is required and I have to enable it. Every time I click it. Then it just loads up the news feed facebook page in my browser.
Same thing happens when I click “The Feed”, and “(My Name)”.
Clicking “Events” just gave me a blank white page, same with “Notifications”.
“Friends” just gives me a text list of people. No photos or anything, just names. When I click on one of them, I get the same “enable permission” thing and it drops me to the news feed.
Is this app just broken, now?

I’m having similar issues. I uploaded the new app, followed the link and got the 6 digit code on the pc and entered it into bloo. Then, once it goes to the main page and I attempt to select any option, or even click on a notification, it again tells me to enable permissions. I’ve enabled all possible permissions for bloo on facebook via PC, but still cannot utilize this application. Help?
Alright people if you having permissions problem .. you can go on your computer and go to facebook and go to settings/applications settings/and give bloo permissions from there if you cant seem to view the feed from the app. For those trying to access the inbox. you should be able to access and read however you cannot send messages from there because facebook wont grant permission.
I have the update and everything loads up fine and i get notifications fine.
Only time i get double notifications is if i am viewing notifications and i get a new one and then i comment on a diff notification then go back then new notifcication will show .. however when i back out the apk the notification will go again for the one i just viewed. Its a slight but not deal breakiing and it rarely happens.
any source of multiple notifications at times come from facebook itself. once i got like 20 notifications from a person commenting on my post. at first i thought bloo went haywire but checked facebook page and it showed 20 notifications so it was a fault on facebook end.

Hi! I love the app. It’s so much better than the native one provided with my N1. I think I finally solved the permissions issue with a little help, but I’m having trouble uploading video. It uploads, then asks for a caption, then upload, asks for a caption, uploads, etc…
Any ideas?

One problem I still have is the birthday icon in my friends list. The little present shows up, but there is no icon next to the relevant friend’s name. This was present (no pun) a few versions ago, but has been gone for some time.
I’d just like to so though that I love this app, and have been using Bloo since the very first versions.

I have the 1.4.4b and I entered in the 6 digit code. When I click on the feed, I get the ‘enable permission’ notification. I followed the steps posted by chosen.one1 to enable Bloo on facebook, however I still get the ‘enable permission’ prompt. Is there a work around for this?
Has anyone else noticed that the news feed is a day old? I have much more current news on the web and on the Facebook for android application.

I cant access feed or Wall/Profile! Always says permission required, when i press Enable permission, i get redirected to touch facebook and can’t add any permissions at all to my Bloo app. Sad to see such a good app being slowly killed by facebook itself

I just went to facebook to add permissions to Bloo myself, and there are only 3 permissions that can be given, which were already marked as allowed… still cant browse Facebook with bloo, always asking for permissions and permissions :S

Hi been trying this for a few days and we still seem to get repeat notifications, no way as bad as before but it seems to be when there are loads of notifications in the memory on the app.
I really like this app, certainly better than the stock FB app. Couple of questions though…Not all of my notifications come through and some it seems like I only get them when I actually open the application. I’m on a Droid and coming from a blackberry. On the blackberry, I remember my notifications would come all the time based on an email that I would receive…With Bloo, it doesn’t seem to be as consistent as that…Am I doing something wrong?
alright i just added this ap to my droid eris, im not sure if im doing something wrong or what but when i click on the feed it goes to my news feed witch is right, but when i click on my name to go to my wall and profile it goes to my news feed instead, and the same happens when i click on a friend in goes to my news feed not their wall or photos like it says. when i click on events it says fun times ahead at the top of the page and has a solid white sreen the rest of the way down. and i also dont see a birthday icon anywhere. so pretty much the only thing that works is my news feed and photos button. so what do i have to do to get this ap to work properly.thanks corey

also when i bring up my friends, if i long hold on their name it comes up with view wall,view info and view photos, the info and photos seem to work but the wall goes to my news feed not their wall. Also when i say my news feed it seems to go to the touchfacebook page, is that what it suppose to do. and when i go to the bottom of that page and click on full site, that doesnt work like when i go in threw the browser witch is what i normally do because all facebook aps seem to be crap. atleast going in threw my browser and on fullsite i can do everthing as if i was on the computer. witch no ap seems to be able to do.

Brief bug/feature request (do you have a bug tracker?): ‘Get directions’ should be available on an event regardless of whether GPS is enabled. I often disable for battery conservation and besides am happy enough to just see my end location on a map in a familiar area.
Other users might be happy with GSM location or simply assumed start point of home location. Perhaps a separate button for ‘Show on map’ would be best, this is mostly what I want to do and from your perspective allows more flexible use of the destination information to be made by the mapping application, which specialises in that sort of thing.

Hi I loved Bloo, but idk what happened to it and I’ve emailed the devp. twice about my problem and never got an answer. It was working great and I’m still upset about this because i want to be able to use it. when I download bloo and come to this website to get the code and put it in my phone thats all fine and I get notifications saying someone has posted on my wall ect. But when I try and click on the on the post or go to my wall or feed or well for that matter do anything i keep getting a box that pops up that says i need to enable extended permission and when i click on enable it just takes me to the touch.mobile.com. I want to be able to use Bloo someone please help me to fix this problem.
I even went to facebook’s website on the pc to see if there was something on there I could do, but it said already that everything was enable already for it.

Love Bloo, but I am having problems with comments not showing up on posts. I get the notifications, but don’t see the actual comments.

Slightly off topic maybe, but a plea for people to consider the ethics of purchasing items like designer clothes. Do try and think about, for example, the materials your product is manufactured from, the conditions of the factories where they’re manufactured and the green credentials of retailers.
